DIY Christmas Sheet Music Gallery Wall Decor

A thrifty Christmas wall decor idea that repurposes a secondhand sheet music book into an inexpensive sheet music art gallery wall for about $1.

Today felt like a perfect day for a thrift-store decorating project—an easy wall decor refresh that’s budget-friendly and festive.

If you remember when I framed pressed fall leaves and used them in our entryway gallery wall, this is the same simple idea with a seasonal twist.

Christmas Wall Decor Idea: Sheet Music Art Gallery Wall

I found a thrifted book of Christmas sheet music for $1 and knew it would be perfect to swap into my entryway frames. For less than a dime per frame, sheet music is a smart, elegant way to add holiday charm without spending much.

In about 30 minutes I had a fresh, seasonal gallery wall—simple, rapid, and very affordable.

Where to Find Sheet Music to Use as Christmas Art

Sheet music makes attractive, graphic art. Look for old hymnals, classic carol collections, or general music books at thrift stores, estate sales, library sales, and secondhand bookstores. If you prefer to purchase single pages, many independent sellers offer printable sheet music pages that you can download and print at home.

When sourcing sheet music, keep an eye out for interesting typography, decorative headings, or aged paper that adds character. Slightly yellowed pages read as vintage and pair beautifully with simple black or wood frames.

I layered a neutral block pillow, a green velvet pillow, and a faux fur blanket on the bench to make the vignette feel cozy and festive. An amaryllis planter added height and a seasonal touch.

Window wreaths or simple evergreen accents are easy additions that complement sheet music art without overpowering it. Keeping the surrounding decor neutral makes the framed pages stand out.

This project got me thinking about keeping a few framed music pages year-round. If you want a less seasonal look, choose classical pieces, hymnals, or instrumental scores that read as neutral decor.

Other inexpensive artwork ideas for these frames include antique botanical prints, bird illustrations, maps, silhouettes, black-and-white family photos, vintage portraits, postcards, or simple typographic prints. Changing the art seasonally keeps the display fresh and gives you lots of options.
