I couldn’t resist—this year I went all in on Halloween in our entryway.
It began with a charming antique frame I found while antiquing with my mom and quickly turned into a full-on foyer refresh with a spooky-yet-stylish vibe. The project mixes classic fall decor with vintage Halloween art to create an inviting, slightly eerie first impression.
Part of the fun was curating a set of 10 vintage Halloween printables. I spent hours hunting public-domain portraits and old etchings that feel perfectly antique and a little mysterious. Decorating the entryway has become a favorite seasonal tradition for me. I don’t do Halloween throughout the whole house, but the foyer is where trick-or-treaters and guests get their first look, so it’s the perfect place to set the tone with intentional fall entryway decor.
Even if fewer visitors stop by this year, anyone who comes to the door will see a thoughtfully layered vignette—fun and festive, but not too frightening.
I mixed thrifted finds, like this fantastic vintage candelabra, with fresh fall elements to create depth and character. Using a mix of old and new pieces gives the display a curated, collected-over-time feel that works beautifully with antique portraits and etchings.
Once I started collecting old portraits and bookplate etchings, I fell down a rabbit hole of interesting faces and eerie silhouettes—perfect for Halloween printables, framed and arranged as a mini gallery in the entry.
