Simple ideas for decorating your home for spring using artificial greenery and flowers, capsule decor staples, and neutral styling that works year-round.
Happy spring, y’all! It doesn’t entirely feel like spring outside yet, but I’m calling it anyway — it’s spring, so there. 😉
I’m joining my friend Krista from The Happy Housie and a group of blogger friends to share our homes decorated for spring.

In past years I was all about pastel and floral everything. This year I’m focused on simplicity. Having a five-month-old has made us crave minimal, neutral styling — and I’m not mad about it. Babies already come with enough stuff, so keeping decor fuss-free feels right.
Most of our flowers and plants are faux — about 95% — because we don’t have the time or energy to care for real ones or clean up after sad houseplant casualties. The result is a clean, fresh, low-maintenance home that still feels warm and seasonal.
Dining Room

Our foyer is a little chaotic right now because of a big upstairs construction project, but beyond that, the dining room is my moody, cozy welcome spot. I dug through my decor stash and found faux pink cherry blossom stems that I tucked into a DIY “stoneware” vase I made.

For the table I used our neutral wedding china — plain white dishes are timeless and continue to be my go-to. A simple runner, wooden chargers, and soft blush stems are all you need for an effortless spring tablescape.
Kitchen

In the kitchen I cleared out the last of the winter decor (yes, in February) and stuck to neutrals: gray stoneware dishes, glass cloches, and wooden platters and cutting boards. A candle on the counter gives a soft glow in the evenings and helps neutralize cooking smells.

I did bring in a few real blooms — a bunch of blush cabbage roses from the grocery store — because that soft pink is one of my favorites and it brightens the kitchen instantly.
We gave this kitchen a budget facelift last summer with paint, a DIY pressed-tin backsplash, and updated lighting. It’s amazing how much a few simple changes can alter the whole vibe. I’ll always be a fan of deep green lower cabinets — they anchor the space beautifully.
Breakfast Nook

This little nook is where we eat most meals. I’m slowly shifting from farmhouse to a more modern-timeless look, but I can’t part with the thrifted banister wall planter just yet. We brought in a compact table to fit the space and left room to sprawl as a family during meals.

Spring kicks off cookout season and family gatherings for us, so keeping the nook fresh and simple is practical. A small bouquet of grocery-store pink cabbage roses on the table keeps the space feeling cheerful without being fussy.
Living Room

We live in this room, so I kept styling minimal and neutral with pillows and throws that work year-round. I reused neutral pillow covers and added a couple of finds from HomeGoods to freshen the look on a budget.

The white tulips are faux but look convincingly real in person. I also finally bought a fake fiddle leaf fig I’d been eyeing for months; it adds life to the corner without the maintenance real plants require. I still need to fluff it a bit to make it look more natural, but it’s already a game-changer for the space.

Near the back door I rehung free botanical prints for the season above the bench that acts as our makeshift mudroom. Since we don’t have a dedicated mudroom, that bench becomes “shoe central” and the artwork helps the entry feel intentional even when it’s messy.

Real life is real — pillows often end up on the floor, pacifiers and bottles make appearances on the end tables, and not a single photo frame has been updated since our baby arrived. Still, I’ll give myself an A for effort. The little touches and neutral base make it easy to keep things presentable while living with small children.

And our dog Lola doesn’t judge. 😉
That’s our spring decor this year: simple, neutral, and mostly faux greenery so it’s low-maintenance. Other rooms in the house aren’t nearly as put together, but I’m enjoying this stage of life — the toys, the mess, and the small, daily moments. Everything is for a season, and I’m holding on to this one.
“To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven.” – Ecclesiastes 3:1
