A roundup of the best Amazon curtains and window shades, plus practical tips for hanging curtains and choosing the ideal length for any room.
Three simple design elements instantly make a space feel finished: a quality rug, layered lighting, and thoughtfully chosen window treatments.
The Amazon curtains I rely on throughout our home deliver that designer look without the designer price.

When we want to update a window quickly and affordably, Amazon is often my starting point. Below I’ve gathered the best curtain brands and styles on Amazon that achieve a high-end look for less—many of which I own and use in my own home.
Top Rated Amazon Curtain Brands
I purchased these curtains with my own money and haven’t been paid by these brands. These are my honest impressions based on personal experience.

Homerilla Curtains
Homerilla is a newer brand that has quickly become popular—and for good reason. I use Homerilla curtains in three rooms. They arrive pre-trained, so pleats and creases are already set and the panels look crisp straight out of the box. They also include hooks and rings, which makes installation fast and easy.
We used the Homerilla Lille linen curtains in our bedroom in the Pure Cashmere Light Grey color.
In the media room we have Homerilla Vol velvet curtains in Dark Jungle Green for a luxe, theater-like feel.
Pros: excellent finish, pre-trained pleats, and hardware included. Cons: currently only available in solid colors—no printed patterns.

Two Pages Curtains
Two Pages is the viral Amazon curtain brand known for producing luxe-looking faux linen drapes that recall high-end designer styles at a fraction of the price. Their lined, pinch-pleat curtains open up a room and feel substantial and tailored.
Two Pages offers pattern and color options and supports customizations such as liners (privacy or blackout), header types (pinch pleat, grommet, rod pocket, or back tab), and custom width and length. I ordered longer panels that gently puddle for a soft, tailored look and selected a room-darkening liner that blocks about 70% of light (not full blackout).
Tip: order fabric swatches if you need to confirm color and texture before buying.
Con: these are pricier than basic mass-market curtains, but still far less expensive than fully custom drapery—and the tailoring options make them a worthwhile investment.

Half Price Drapes
Half Price Drapes offers very good quality for the cost and a broad range of colors and fabrics. I’ve used their velvet panels in guest rooms and bedrooms and appreciated the substantial weight and light-blocking performance. Velvet panels also help absorb sound, which is a bonus for bedrooms and media rooms.
We’ve ordered multiple sets from Half Price Drapes over the years, including wide panels for larger windows. Their faux linen options are plentiful, though the fabric can be stiffer and less drapey than some alternatives like Two Pages.
Con: on rare occasions a panel may arrive with a small flaw. Over dozens of panels, issues have been uncommon and tended to be isolated.
Overall, Half Price Drapes provides excellent value for texture and color variety. If you need more structured drape fabric or more customization, Two Pages or Homerilla may be better choices.
How to Hang Curtains
The simplest trick for making windows feel larger and ceilings taller is to hang curtains “high and wide.”
I typically install brackets 12–18 inches beyond each side of the window trim and position the rod about 2–3 inches below the crown molding. This draws the eye upward and creates the illusion of taller windows and higher ceilings.

How Long Should Curtains Be?
Polished look: Panels should float about 1/2″ above the floor for a tailored finish.
Casual look: Panels can kiss the floor by being about 2″ longer than the measured window-to-floor distance.
Romantic or dramatic: Allow panels to puddle on the floor by adding 6–10″ to the measured length.
I prefer pleated headers for a refined appearance over rod pockets or tab tops. If you have tab-top curtains you like, consider removing the tabs and using ring clips for a cleaner, elevated look.

Frequently Asked Questions
Curtains help make a room appear larger when installed high and wide. Extending the rod 12–18″ beyond the window and raising the rod a few inches above the trim visually expands window size and the feeling of space.
Aim for curtain coverage equal to about twice the width of the window for a full, gathered look. For a 30″ window, panels totaling 60″ width give good fullness. If panels are narrow, layer two or three side-by-side for a wider appearance.
No rule requires matching curtains throughout the home. Designers often choose complementary fabrics and colors that suit each room’s function and style—cohesive, but not identical.
