I prefer framing winter landscapes rather than holiday-specific pieces because snow scenes feel festive for December yet remain appropriate through January and February. It’s an easy way to decorate smarter—not harder—so you don’t have to swap art out multiple times.

The painting I chose is a vintage winter scene titled “Piette’s House at Montfoucault” by Camille Pissarro, originally found in a museum archive. I lightly restored the image to improve contrast and clarity for printing while keeping the original charm intact.

It also feels personal: the light yellow house in the image reminded my husband Robert of his childhood home, so the piece has extra sentimental value on our breakfast nook wall.

To complete the look, I added faux pine garland, a dried orange garland, and a bit of ribbon on the table and banquette. A brass and green marble serving board from an antique shop anchors the display, paired with a vase of winter greenery for texture.

For extra sparkle, consider stringing small twinkle lights around the garland or adding a few candles on the table for a cozy glow.
